Young Vyomonaut Series for 3-6 year olds
The following activity/game was designed and conceptualised for BlobbiKit’s Earth & Space box. Blobbikit is a subscription educational box service intended for 3-6 year olds. Each box focuses on a particular theme/subject and aims to inculcate knowledge to kids through stories, games, toys, puzzles and activities.
The Drip Drop Gravity Game
Concept
The idea was introduce the concept of gravity to 3-6 year olds through a fun activity. This activity consists of a overall game board, with a grid containing numbers. It has 7x7 cm cards each corresponding to the number on the grid. The cards have two coloured dots. Kids are required to place a drop of paint on one of the dots and tilt the card, to let the paint drip under the ‘effect’ of gravity. The idea is to connect the dots through dripping paint. In the end, children arrange the cards on the board to uncover a hidden shape.

How to Play
The goal is to connect dots of the same colour. Place a drop of runny paint on one of the dots and lift the paper to let the paint drip down to the other dot. Let gravity do the work.
Arrange and stick the completed cards onto the bigger board. Match the numbers on the card to the ones on the board. Make sure the black bar on the cards is always on the top when sticking. Find the hidden image upon finishing.
The Tryout
Earth Excavation
Concept
In this activity, kids learn the names of the various layers of earth. Inspired by the Contour Mapping technique, this activity lets kids lower a colour coded measuring stick in the slots on the surface of the earth. Depending on the depth covered by the stick, a certain colour stands out above the surface that helps determine which layer of the earth it corresponds to.
Layers of the Atmosphere
Concept
This game is to help kids learn the various layers in our atmosphere. This also involves physical play. The kids navigate across different atmospheric layers depicted on a play mat.
This is a 2-player game. Player 1 stands on the Earth while Player 2 stands outside the mat. Player 2 draws a card from the set and instructs Player 1 to perform action mentioned in the card. Game ends if Player 1 fails to perform the action.
In the next turn, Player 2 stands on the Earth while Player 1 stands outside the mat with the cards. The game is repeated.
